The Lion King
The Competition
In late 2018, Rose Teagarten entered into a theater competition called the Drama Teacher’s Association of Southern California Fall Festival, also known as DTASC, for her second year. She entered under the category Varsity Division Costumes and Makeup. The theme was Disney Musicals. She chose to do the Disney Musical: The Lion King. The competition required five designs and one fully realized design as well as a two page concept paper, research, finances to prove the costume was budgeted under $100, and an oral presentation. After a lot of hard work, which included tearing apart a bamboo fence nail by nail with her friend and awesome assistant, Natalia who was so helpful throughout, she received an honorable mention in 7th place.
The Notebook
Note About This Virtual Notebook
The Notebook you see above is not the notebook in full. For this website the full notebook was not included for faster reading and the convenience of the viewer. The original notebook included much more research both visual and factual and contained all of the requirements such as the budget and the cotume verification form wich you will not find in this one. There was even an entire pinterest page of over 200 reference images. It also included a list of links to all of the sources used (in the competition it was not required that sources were properly cited). Some of the more important information and facts gathered was also copied and pasted into it and linked to the original source.
That said you can find some of the additional responses and research in the Notebook Writing for download below.
