What is Dungeons and Dragons?

Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop roleplaying game. In it, the Dungeon Master creates a world and story for players, who create characters and play in the world. Players are given scenarios, places, people, and creatures by the DM who facilitates. Players react to these scenarios and problem solve and can explore the world.

Original Characters Digital Drawings

In between projects, I’ve been working on some digital drawings for fun. They relate to my hobby: Dungeons and Dragons. (If you are unfamiliar with what Dungeons and Dragons is, look to my brief explanations on either side of this text.) I play D&D with a group of friends. Each of our characters’ is very different from the rest, and each has their own unique look. I wanted to capture that and work on some of my skills. So, I’ve enjoyed working on my digital drawing skills by designing my friends’ and my own original characters. In my free time, I’ve been asking my friends about their characters and, with their input in mind, designing how I see their characters, or I’ve been drawing how I see my own characters. It’s been a great way to relax while also getting to practice skills such as figure drawing and using Procreate.

How Does D&D Work?

There are rules in place to make the game fair and the world adhere to a set logic. However, these rules can be changed so long as everyone agrees. How things turn out for the players, if their plans succeed or fail, is determined by rolling dice.

To sum up: Think playing pretend but with dice and some guidelines.
